On 24 February 2011 the FAFNIR-price awards ceremony took place at the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH).
Mrs. Maide Güzel has been awarded this time with the FAFNIR-price of € 1,500 for her study in computer science-engineering.
With this award, initiated in 2008, FAFNIR promotes young talents in engineering at TUHH for their outstanding theses in the field of sensor technology.
The FAFNIR LPG level sensors (LPG: Liquefied Petroleum Gas) provide information about the fuel levels in the LPG tanks. The pressure-resistant, magnetostrictive sensors with a Buna float and stainless steel screw connection are specially designed for use in liquefied petroleum gas.
In recent months FANIR has worked intensively on the launch of the new website. This autumn the new FAFNIR-Look went online.

The VISY-Stick Flex is the latest sensor VISY product family. It is versatile, e.g. at refineries, or even with different tanks with low ceilings. The sensor operates on the magnetostrictive measurement principle and offers new opportunities to replace previously used for storage tanks measuring techniques such as radar or guided microwave. The new VISY-Stick Flex FAFNIR convinces with his easy installation and the compact packaging and therefore cost-effective transportation.

Automatic Tank Gauging systems supplier FAFNIR has launched two new products in South Africa: new VISY-Command GUI and a VISY-Stick Flex.
The new products were launched in May 2010 by ColVic, the southern African FAFNIR distributor, supported by FAFNIR Business Development Director Wolfgang Pein, who is globally responsible for new FAFNIR business. Mr Pein said that the new products were in line with the market-led FAFNIR approach which aims to produce quality engineered sensor products to match the changing needs of customers in the fuel and petrochemical industries.
