The current situation in the transport market continues to result in significant cost increases across nearly all areas of logistics. In addition to sharply rising sea and air freight rates, the European road transport sector is also experiencing substantial cost increases. Rapidly increasing fuel prices and noticeable stockpiling of goods that may become scarce or more expensive in the coming weeks are creating exceptionally high demand for transport capacity. This is leading to short term cost surges and significantly rising market prices.
In order to maintain the reliability of our services and secure the necessary capacities on behalf of our customers, we are unfortunately compelled to continue passing on the increased transport costs over the coming weeks.
The adjustment takes effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice, as long as the exceptional market conditions persist.
As soon as the situation stabilises again, we will of course reduce the surcharges immediately.
