A vapour recovery system is a device for the reduction of volatile organic compounds which springs into action during the fuelling of motor vehicles.

Since the entry into force of the most recent amendment of the 21st BImSchV (German Federal Emissions Protection Ordinance) on 18 May 2002, the fitting of vapour recovery system with an automatic monitoring device is mandatory for filling stations newly constructed after 01 April 2003.

This is why FAFNIR developed the system VAPORIX well beforehand; it provides information about the functional status of the active vapour recovery, serving to protect people and the environment.
